Why hosted MCP fits marketplace sellers
Each marketplace account or region is its own connection, and a workspace holds one connection per provider. Amazon North America and Amazon Europe sit in two workspaces. One sign-in from Claude or ChatGPT still reaches both, and every tool takes the connection to use.
An owner or admin sets every teammate to No access, Read, or Read and write, per connection. A listings freelancer can update Amazon listings without seeing the ledger. A bookkeeper can read payouts without being able to change a price.

Which writes to allow, and which to keep off
A new connection starts read-only. An owner or admin turns on Allow write actions for a connection. Each teammate is then set to No access, Read, or Read and write. An allowed write runs the moment the AI calls it, with no approval step. On a marketplace that means a live price, a live listing or a real refund.

Can ChatGPT or Claude work as an Amazon seller AI tool?
Yes, once it can reach your account. Connect Amazon in PopMCP, then add https://app.popmcp.com/mcp to Claude or ChatGPT. Claude takes it as a custom connector and ChatGPT as a developer-mode app. It can then read listings, FBA stock, pricing, order metrics and financial events when you ask.
What do I need to connect my Amazon seller account?
Amazon is not a one-click connect. You need a Professional selling account and your own SP-API app. The app gives you an LWA client ID, an LWA client secret and a refresh token. Amazon's developer registration commonly takes a few business days, so start it first.
Can the AI see my Amazon fees, payouts and settlement reports?
It reads fees and payouts through amazon_list_financial_events and amazon_list_financial_event_groups. There is no dedicated settlement-report tool. Other reports are requested with amazon_create_report, which is a write-flagged tool. The finished file comes back as a download link.
Does it work for eBay and Etsy sellers too?
Yes. eBay and Etsy are both in the catalog, with listings, orders and payments. eBay adds payment disputes and Etsy adds reviews. Each connects through an app you create in that marketplace's developer portal. The best AI for eBay sellers or Etsy sellers is the client you already use. It only needs to read the shop.
Can I connect more than one Amazon account or region?
Yes. Each seller account or region is its own connection, and a workspace holds one connection per provider. Put Amazon Europe in a second workspace beside Amazon North America. One sign-in from your AI client reaches both, and the AI is told which connection to use.
