ChatGPT MCP connectors for Shopify, Stripe and 100+ tools
Add one URL as a custom MCP server from Plugins and sign in with OAuth. ChatGPT can then read live orders, payments, campaigns and invoices from the tools you already run. No API keys, and no server to host.

The steps depend on whether you add PopMCP for yourself or for a workspace. Both end with the same PopMCP sign-in.
Add PopMCP as a custom MCP server
There is no Developer mode to turn on first. You add the server from Plugins and sign in.
Sign in at app.popmcp.com, connect Shopify, Stripe or any other tool, and check each one shows as Verified.
In ChatGPT on the web, go to Plugins and select the plus button. There is no Developer mode to turn on first.
Select Add custom MCP server, name it PopMCP and enter the URL below.

Complete the authorization prompt: sign in to PopMCP and tick only the connectors ChatGPT should reach.
In a new chat, ask ChatGPT to use PopMCP and run list_connections, then try a read first.
Try this promptUse PopMCP to run list_connections and tell me which tools you can use.
Add PopMCP for a ChatGPT workspace
On Business, only admins and owners can create and publish a custom MCP server. Members use it once it is published.

The short answer
ChatGPT supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) through custom MCP servers: you add a server's URL from Plugins, sign in, and ChatGPT can call its tools in a chat. PopMCP is a hosted MCP server that puts 100+ business tools behind one URL, https://app.popmcp.com/mcp, so one custom MCP server reaches every tool you connect in PopMCP. OpenAI lists full MCP, reads and writes, for Business, Enterprise and Edu on the web, and read and fetch for Pro. ChatGPT signs in with OAuth, and you choose which connectors it may use.
What to ask ChatGPT
ChatGPT calls PopMCP's tools, PopMCP reads your connected accounts, and the answer comes back in the chat. The tool names are the real ones ChatGPT calls.
How did yesterday's Shopify sales compare with the same day last week?

More to paste into ChatGPT
- Use the PopMCP app to list yesterday's Shopify orders over $200.
- Which products are out of stock right now?
- Compare this week's order count with last week's.
- What did we spend on Meta Ads last week against store revenue?
- Which Klaviyo flows have the lowest click rate?
- Which Google Ads campaigns spent the most this month?
- Summarize open tickets about refunds and link each to its order.
- Who are our top 10 customers by lifetime spend?
- Find tickets nobody has answered for more than a day.
- Which invoices are more than 30 days overdue?
- List failed Stripe payments from the last 7 days.
- Run a profit and loss report for last month.
You decide what ChatGPT can reach
That is set in PopMCP, not in ChatGPT. The sign-in ends on a consent screen that lists your connections.
- OAuth sign-in, no API keys
- ChatGPT signs in to PopMCP with OAuth 2.1. There is nothing to paste, and your Shopify or Stripe credentials stay encrypted inside PopMCP.
- You pick the connectors
- The consent screen lists your connections. ChatGPT reaches only the ones you tick.
- Read-only where you want it
- A workspace owner or admin sets each teammate to no access, read, or read and write, per connection.
- Every call is on the record
- Usage shows each request by user, connector and tool. Removing someone's access applies on the next request.
Where PopMCP works in ChatGPT
Each row is one place ChatGPT runs, and what its vendor says about adding a remote MCP server there.
| Where | Remote MCP | How it signs in |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Educhatgpt.com | Supported | OAuth sign-in; full MCP, reads and writes |
| Workspace admins and ownerschatgpt.com, Business | Supported | Only admins and owners create and publish the plugin |
| ChatGPT Prochatgpt.com | Advanced setup | Read and fetch permissions only |
| ChatGPT iOS and Android appsiPhone, iPad, Android | Not available | Custom MCP servers are web only |
Before you connect ChatGPT
OpenAI's help page for custom MCP servers sets these limits.
- Full MCP is Business, Enterprise and Edu
- OpenAI lists full MCP, reads and writes, for Business, Enterprise and Edu on the web. Pro can connect with read and fetch permissions only. Free, Go and Plus are not listed.
- Web only
- Custom MCP servers are on chatgpt.com. OpenAI says they are not available in the mobile apps.
- Confirmation depends on context
- ChatGPT decides when to ask for confirmation from the app's permissions and the action's context. Expand a tool call to read its input before you approve a write.
- Name PopMCP in your prompt
- Say which server and tool to use, for example: use PopMCP to run list_connections. It matters more as your list of plugins grows.
