The 5 connections

The orders are in Shopify, the repeat purchase is earned in Klaviyo, and the first visit was bought on Meta or Google. Every question worth asking crosses at least two of them.

One question, every connection

The tool names below are the real ones your client calls. Check any chain against the catalog on the integration’s own page.

What did we spend on ads last week, and what did the store actually take?

  1. Meta Adsmeta_ads_get_campaign_insights
  2. Google Adsgoogle_ads_search_stream
  3. Google Analytics 4ga4_batch_run_reports
  4. Shopifyshopify_count_ordersshopify_get_orders

Two ad accounts, one analytics property and the order table reconciled in a single answer, rather than four exports and a spreadsheet.

Turning it on

Nothing to deploy, and nothing to install on the provider side.

  1. Connect the accounts

One connection per store, property or ad account. Three authorise with OAuth, two take an API credential. Credentials are encrypted at rest and never reach your AI client.

  2. Tick what each client reaches

Your client signs in to PopMCP with OAuth and gets only the connections you approve. Writes run the moment it calls them, so keep reporting teammates on read-only.

  3. Register one URL

app.popmcp.com/mcp, once per client. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and the rest reach the same five connections with the same permissions.

Five connections need Starter or above — the free tier holds two. See what each plan includes.

Questions about the ecommerce stack

Can I connect more than one store or ad account?

Yes. Every store, ad account and analytics property is its own connection, and PopMCP is built for several of the same provider side by side — two Shopify stores and three Meta ad accounts is six connections, not a conflict. Each one is named and authorised separately, so the agent can be told which brand it is working on.

Does the agent need every tool in all five catalogs loaded?

No, and it should not have them. Each connection loads a curated default set and keeps the rest searchable, so a five-connection stack costs a fraction of the context that loading five full catalogs would. The agent pulls a specialist tool in when a task needs one.

Can this change my ad spend or my inventory by accident?

It can change them on purpose, which is the same risk. Budget changes, ad set pauses and inventory writes run the moment the AI calls them. Tick only the connections a given client should reach on the PopMCP consent screen, and on Scale keep reporting teammates on read-only so they get the numbers without the writes.
