Claude connectors directory: business tools you can add to Claude
Claude reaches outside tools through connectors. Some are listed in Anthropic's directory after review; anything else is added by URL as a custom connector. PopMCP is the second kind: one custom connector for 100+ business tools.
https://app.popmcp.com/mcpAdd PopMCP to Claude as a custom connector
PopMCP is added the way any custom connector is. The steps depend on your Claude plan.
Add PopMCP as a custom connector
You add it yourself. On Free it uses your one custom connector, and every tool you connect in PopMCP comes through it.
Sign in at app.popmcp.com, connect Shopify, Klaviyo or any other tool, and check each one shows as Verified.
In the Claude desktop app or on claude.ai, go to Customize, then Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it PopMCP and enter the URL below. There is no token to paste, and the OAuth client ID and secret stay empty.
MCP server URLhttps://app.popmcp.com/mcpIf Claude asks how to register, choose Register automatically. PopMCP supports dynamic client registration, not the Client ID Metadata Documents that Claude's published identity needs.
Click Add and sign in to PopMCP. On the consent screen, tick only the connectors Claude should reach, then authorize.
Turn PopMCP on from the + menu in a chat, then ask Claude to run list_connections before anything that writes.
Try this promptRun list_connections and tell me which tools you can use.
Add PopMCP for a Team or Enterprise organization
An Owner adds the custom connector once. Each member then connects with their own PopMCP sign-in.
Sign in at app.popmcp.com, connect the tools the team uses, and check each one shows as Verified.
An Owner or Primary Owner goes to Organization settings, then Connectors, and selects Add, then Custom, then Web.
Name it PopMCP and enter the URL below. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty.
MCP server URLhttps://app.popmcp.com/mcpIf Claude asks how to register, choose Register automatically.
The Owner clicks Add. Each member then opens Customize, then Connectors, finds PopMCP with a Custom label, clicks Connect and signs in to PopMCP.
Each member turns PopMCP on from the + menu in a chat and asks Claude to run list_connections to see what they were granted.
The short answer
A Claude connector is an MCP server Claude can call. Anthropic lists reviewed ones in its connectors directory, labelled Verified or Community, and anything else is added by URL as a custom connector, which Claude marks Custom and never suggests. Both run on the same MCP infrastructure; the difference is review, discoverability and distribution. PopMCP is not in the directory. It is one custom connector, https://app.popmcp.com/mcp, that reaches every tool you connect in PopMCP, which matters on Claude Free, where one custom connector is the limit.

What to ask Claude
Claude calls PopMCP's tools, PopMCP reads your connected accounts, and the answer comes back in the chat. The tool names are the real ones Claude calls.

You decide what Claude can reach
That is set in PopMCP, not in Claude connectors. The sign-in ends on a consent screen that lists your connections.
- OAuth sign-in, no API keys
- Claude signs in to PopMCP with OAuth 2.1. There is nothing to paste, and your Shopify or Stripe credentials stay encrypted inside PopMCP.
- You pick the connectors
- The consent screen lists your connections. Claude reaches only the ones you tick.
- Read-only where you want it
- A workspace owner or admin sets each teammate to no access, read, or read and write, per connection.
- Every call is on the record
- Usage shows each request by user, connector and tool. Removing someone's access applies on the next request.
Directory and custom connectors
Each row is one way a connector reaches Claude, and what Anthropic says about it.
| Where | Remote MCP | How it signs in |
|---|---|---|
| Directory connectorsListed by Anthropic after review | Supported | Each signs in to its own service |
| Custom connector: PopMCPAdded by URL, labelled Custom | Supported | One OAuth sign-in to PopMCP for every connected tool |
| Claude Desktop and claude.aiOne account, every surface | Supported | A connector added in one appears in the other |
| Team and EnterpriseOrganization settings, Connectors | Supported | An Owner adds a connector first; members click Connect |
Before you add a connector
Directory and custom connectors work the same once added. These are the differences Anthropic documents.
- PopMCP is a custom connector
- It is not in Anthropic's directory and has not been through its review. Claude shows it with a Custom label and never suggests it; you add it by URL.
- Free allows one custom connector
- Anthropic limits Free to one custom connector. PopMCP fits in that one slot because every tool you connect in PopMCP comes through it.
- Verified and Community listings
- Anthropic marks directory entries Verified when it has tested them, and Community when it has screened but not reviewed them in depth.
- Owners go first on Team and Enterprise
- In an organization, an Owner adds a connector under Organization settings before members can connect to it.
