Add one URL to Grok Bot, grok.com or Grok Build and sign in with OAuth. Grok can then read live orders, campaigns, payments and tickets from the tools you already run. No API keys, and no server to host.

Where it works
How PopMCP connects to Grok
Grok supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) through custom connectors: you give Grok the URL of a remote MCP server and it can call that server's tools in a chat. PopMCP is a hosted MCP server that puts 100+ business tools behind one URL, https://app.popmcp.com/mcp, so a single Grok connector reaches every tool you connect in PopMCP. Grok signs in with OAuth, and you choose which connectors it may use.
Grok Bot
SupportedmacOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android
xAI lists custom remote HTTPS MCP servers as Grok Bot plugins. Cursor staff say there is no settings form for them: you ask the bot in chat to add the server.
grok.com Connectors
SupportedWeb · grok.com
Add PopMCP as a custom connector from grok.com/connectors. On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin adds it in the xAI console first.
Grok Build CLI
SupportedTerminal
One grok mcp add command registers PopMCP. Grok Build opens the browser sign-in on first use.
Grok iOS and Android apps
Not documentediPhone, iPad, Android
xAI documents adding custom connectors on grok.com, not in the mobile apps. Add PopMCP on the web. Whether the apps then use it is not documented.
xAI API remote MCP tools
Advanced setupResponses API, xAI SDK
The API takes a server URL and a token you supply, and xAI documents no OAuth sign-in for it. PopMCP only issues tokens through OAuth, so your code has to obtain and refresh one.

Setup
Connect PopMCP to Grok, step by step
Pick where you use Grok. Each path ends with the same PopMCP sign-in.
Grok Bot runs on a cloud computer, so it can only reach a public HTTPS server, which PopMCP is. xAI lists custom remote servers as plugins; the chat steps below come from Cursor's staff on its support forum.
Ask the bot to add PopMCP
In a Grok Bot chat, send the message below. The bot confirms the details with you and sets the server up.
Paste into chatAdd this MCP server: https://app.popmcp.com/mcpAuthorize the sign-in
The bot posts a connect card with an Authorize button. Click it, sign in to PopMCP in your browser, tick the connectors the bot may use, and approve.
Check team policy if it is blocked
Grok Bot follows your team's Cursor connector policy. If PopMCP shows as Disabled by team admin, ask an admin to allow it, and to add the PopMCP URL to the MCP allowlist if the team uses one.
Confirm the connection
Ask the bot to run list_connections, then give it a read-only task before anything that writes.
Connectors live on grok.com, and one you add belongs to your Grok account. xAI documents the Custom option and the URL field; the button names below follow a third-party guide.
Connect your tools in PopMCP
Sign in at app.popmcp.com, connect Shopify, Klaviyo or any other tool, and check each one shows as Verified.
Open Connectors in Grok
Go to grok.com/connectors, click New Connector, then select Custom. On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin adds it first under console.x.ai → Grok Business → Connectors → + Add Connector → Other.
Add the PopMCP URL
Enter the URL below as the MCP server URL. If the form asks for a name, use PopMCP, then click Add Connector. There is no API key or token to paste.
MCP server URLhttps://app.popmcp.com/mcpSign in and approve
Click Connect to start the sign-in. It can open in a popup, so allow popups for grok.com. On the PopMCP screen, tick only the connectors Grok should reach, then approve.
Check what Grok can see
Ask Grok to run list_connections. It lists the connectors it was granted. Start with a read-only request.
Try this promptRun list_connections and tell me which tools you can use.
Grok Build, xAI's terminal coding agent, registers remote MCP servers with one command and handles OAuth itself.
Register PopMCP
Run this in your terminal. There is no header or key to add.
Terminalgrok mcp add --transport http popmcp https://app.popmcp.com/mcpSign in
Start Grok Build and open /mcps. Select popmcp and press i to authenticate. Sign in to PopMCP in the browser window that opens and approve the connectors.
Reuse an existing setup
Grok Build also reads ~/.claude.json, .cursor/mcp.json and a project's .mcp.json. If you already added PopMCP to Claude Code or Cursor, it may load without the command above.
Confirm the tools
Ask it to run list_connections, then start with a read-only request.

Safe by design
You decide what Grok can touch
OAuth sign-in, no API keys
Grok signs in to PopMCP with OAuth 2.1. There is nothing to paste, and your Shopify or Stripe credentials stay encrypted inside PopMCP.
You pick the connectors
The PopMCP consent screen lists your connections. Grok reaches only the ones you tick.
Read-only where you want it
A workspace owner or admin sets each teammate to no access, read, or read and write, per connection.
See and stop every call
Usage shows each request by user, connector and tool. Removing someone's access applies on the next request.
Good to know
Before you connect Grok
Grok launched Connectors in May 2026, Grok Bot in August 2026, and its documentation is still changing. Here is what is not settled yet.
Plan access is not settled
xAI says connectors are available to all Grok users. Some third-party guides say custom connectors are only on paid plans. If you do not see Custom under New Connector, check your plan.
Business and Enterprise need an admin
On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin adds PopMCP in the xAI console before members can connect it.
Grok Bot's sign-in address
Users on the Cursor forum report that Grok Bot signs in with a cursor:// callback address, which some MCP servers reject. PopMCP's OAuth server accepts custom-scheme callbacks like this one.
Mobile is not documented
xAI does not document adding a custom connector from the Grok mobile apps. Add PopMCP on grok.com.
Common questions
Grok and PopMCP FAQ
Does Grok support MCP servers?
Yes. grok.com supports custom MCP connectors, Grok Bot lists custom remote HTTPS MCP servers as plugins, and the Grok Build CLI registers them with grok mcp add. Each one can take a remote server URL such as https://app.popmcp.com/mcp.
How do I add a custom MCP connector to Grok?
Go to grok.com/connectors, click New Connector, then select Custom. Enter https://app.popmcp.com/mcp as the MCP server URL and complete the PopMCP sign-in. On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin adds the server in console.x.ai first.
Can Grok Bot use PopMCP?
xAI lists custom remote HTTPS MCP servers with OAuth sign-in as Grok Bot plugins, and PopMCP is one. Cursor staff say to tell the bot "Add this MCP server: https://app.popmcp.com/mcp". Then sign in to PopMCP in your browser when the bot asks.
Do I need an API key to connect Grok to PopMCP?
No. PopMCP uses OAuth 2.1 sign-in, so Grok never holds an API key. Your Shopify, Klaviyo or Stripe credentials stay encrypted inside PopMCP.
Which of my tools can Grok reach?
Only the connectors you tick on the PopMCP consent screen. A workspace owner or admin can also set each teammate to no access, read, or read and write per connection.
Does it work in the Grok iPhone and Android apps?
xAI documents adding custom connectors on grok.com, not in the mobile apps. Add PopMCP on the web. Whether the mobile apps can then use it is not documented.
Can I use PopMCP with the xAI API?
Only with extra work. The API's remote MCP tool sends a token you supply, and xAI documents no OAuth sign-in for it. PopMCP only issues tokens through OAuth, so your code must get and refresh one itself.
Is Grok safe to give access to my store?
You control it in PopMCP: tick only the connectors Grok needs and keep teammates on read-only where possible. Start with read-only requests.
