The 5 connections

Search Console knows the query, Ahrefs and Semrush know the backlink, Clarity knows what the visitor did, and GA4 knows whether any of it made money.

One question, every connection

The tool names below are the real ones your client calls. Check any chain against the catalog on the integration’s own page.

Which pages lost the most clicks this quarter, and why?

  1. Google Search Consolegsc_query_search_analytics
  2. Ahrefsahrefs_site_explorer_top_pagesahrefs_site_explorer_metrics_history
  3. Google Analytics 4ga4_run_report
  4. Microsoft Clarityclarity_insights_by_page

Position loss, traffic history, on-page behaviour and revenue for one set of URLs — the four exports that usually get keyed together by hand.

Turning it on

Nothing to deploy, and nothing to install on the provider side.

  1. Connect the accounts

One connection per store, property or ad account. Two authorise with OAuth, three take an API credential. Credentials are encrypted at rest and never reach your AI client.

  2. Tick what each client reaches

Your client signs in to PopMCP with OAuth and gets only the connections you approve. Writes run the moment it calls them, so keep reporting teammates on read-only.

  3. Register one URL

app.popmcp.com/mcp, once per client. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and the rest reach the same five connections with the same permissions.

Five connections need Starter or above — the free tier holds two. See what each plan includes.

Questions about the analytics and SEO stack

Why run Ahrefs and Semrush together?

Because their indexes disagree, and the disagreement is informative. Keyword difficulty, backlink counts and traffic estimates are each tool's own model, so a number that both agree on is worth acting on and a number only one reports is worth checking. Connecting both makes that comparison a question rather than a project.

Is this stack mostly read-only?

Mostly. Four of the five are dominated by read tools — Clarity has no write tools at all. The writes that exist are narrow: submitting a sitemap, launching a site audit, creating a GA4 key event or custom dimension. Nothing here can publish a page.

Can it report on more than one site?

Yes. Each verified Search Console property, GA4 property, Clarity project and SEO workspace is its own connection, so an agency can hold every client's set side by side and ask the same question across all of them.
