Credentials off one Wrike screen, then an endpoint your client signs into. Nothing to deploy, and nothing to install.
In Wrike click your profile picture, then Apps & Integrations, then the API tab. Create an app with any name, click Create token under Permanent access token and paste it into PopMCP. It works on every Wrike plan and needs no approval. PopMCP finds your account's data center and locks the connection to that account.
••••••••••••3f7aCreating and changing tasks, folders, comments, time and approvals are writes and wait until an owner or admin allows write actions; new connections start read-only. Wrike moves deleted tasks and folders to its Recycle Bin, and the AI sees only what the connected person can see.
Drop the PopMCP URL into Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or any other supported client. It signs in through PopMCP with OAuth, so your Wrike credential never leaves the server.
app.popmcp.com/mcpAsk for something harmless before the agent changes anything. Writes run as soon as it calls them, so confirm it reads the right account first.
What is assigned to me in Wrike, with anything overdue first?
wrike_list_my_tasksok
Then just ask for the work
“What is assigned to me in Wrike, with anything overdue first?”
“How is the Website Relaunch project doing? What is overdue and who has the most open work?”
“Turn these meeting notes into tasks in the Q4 Launch folder, assigned to the people named, due Friday”
“Summarize this task from its link, with the comments and what is blocking it”
“Move the homepage copy task to In Review and tell the team on the task”
“Log two hours on the client report task for today”
“Create a new campaign project from our Campaign Launch blueprint”
One hosted endpoint, registered once per client. The same tools and the same permissions, whichever window the request comes from.
Add the PopMCP URL under Customize → Connectors and the tools appear in every chat.
The same endpoint, registered in the browser. Nothing to install on the machine you are working from.
Register PopMCP as a custom connector, then let ChatGPT read and update the account.
Wire the endpoint into Codex or the Codex CLI when a task needs live business context, not a fixture.
Register the remote MCP server in OpenCode's config for terminal-first and scripted agent runs.
Add PopMCP as an MCP server in Z.ai's desktop app and work the account from the same window.
FAQ
What teams ask before putting Wrike behind an AI client.
One permanent access token. In Wrike, click your profile picture, open Apps & Integrations, then the API tab, create an app with any name and click Create token. Paste the token into PopMCP, which stores it encrypted and never passes it to your AI client. API access is included on every Wrike plan, the free one too, and Wrike reviews nothing. If PopMCP's sign-in is switched on for your workspace, you can click Connect Wrike and approve on Wrike's own page instead.
Yes. Wrike keeps each account in one data center and a call to the wrong one is refused, so PopMCP tries your token on each of them when you connect and remembers the one that answers. You never enter a host or region.
Yes. A link copied from Wrike, or the number in it, works wherever a task, folder or project, comment, attachment, time entry or contact id goes. PopMCP turns it into the API id Wrike needs. find_item also finds work by words in its title, and add_task takes a folder's name and people's names or email addresses.
Yes. Wrike keeps two ideas of status: a broad group such as Active or Completed, and the custom status people see on the task. set_task_status takes the name you use, such as In Review, and finds it in the workflow that task belongs to. If the name is not there, it answers with the statuses that are.
Yes. Every connection starts read-only, which keeps every read and blocks every change, including through the raw escape hatch. A read-only connection also refuses Wrike's trick of running a read as another action. An owner or admin can allow write actions later. The AI only ever reaches what the connected person can see, and permanent tokens have no read-only kind of their own, so PopMCP's setting is what enforces it.
The API works on every plan, but what it reaches follows your plan and your role. Custom fields, approvals and blueprints depend on the plan, BI Export needs Enterprise and the Export account data right, and users, groups, invitations and the audit log need an account admin. When Wrike refuses for one of these reasons, the tool says which and does not retry.
PopMCP registers a webhook with your connection, so a workflow can start when a task is created, assigned, moved to another status, given new dates or commented on, when a file is attached, when a project's status or dates change, when time is logged, or when a blueprint finishes. Nothing needs to be set up in Wrike.
No. PopMCP hosts it and gives you a Streamable HTTP MCP URL. There is nothing to deploy, no callback URL to register, and no infrastructure to keep running or patch.
Any client that supports a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server: Claude Desktop, Claude Web, Claude Code, ChatGPT custom connectors, Codex and the Codex CLI, OpenCode and Z.ai's ZCode, as well as editors such as Cursor, Windsurf and Zed. Your client signs in to PopMCP with OAuth; the provider credential never leaves the server.
Connect Wrike in PopMCP first, then run claude mcp add --transport http popmcp https://app.popmcp.com/mcp in a terminal. Inside Claude Code, run /mcp and sign in to PopMCP in the browser window it opens, ticking Wrike on the consent screen. The Wrike tools are then available in that session, and no Wrike credential is stored on your machine.
Loading 245 tool definitions into every conversation burns context before the work starts. PopMCP loads a curated 46-tool set covering the everyday workflows and keeps the rest searchable, so your AI pulls a specialist tool only when a task needs it. Every tool stays searchable, and on Scale the owner can load the full catalog for a teammate's connection.
A tool is something your AI calls, and there are 245 here. A trigger is something PopMCP watches for you: 32 Wrike events that can start work on the PopMCP side. Triggers never enter your AI client's context, and none of them ask you to paste a callback URL into Wrike.
Launch a hosted MCP endpoint for Wrike, keep tool access under control, and start testing real workflow prompts right away.
