Impact.com MCP server questions

What teams ask before putting Impact.com behind an AI client.

What does PopMCP need to connect impact.com?

An Account SID and an Auth Token from an access token you create under Settings, Technical, API in impact.com. PopMCP stores them encrypted and sends them server-side only, so they never reach your AI client.

Does it work for brands, partners and agencies?

Yes, all three. impact.com keeps a separate API for each, and PopMCP finds out which one your token belongs to when you connect. You see only the tools for your kind of account, so a brand never sees partner tools.

How does it work for an agency with many clients?

After connecting, you choose the whole agency or one brand it manages. A connection to one brand stays on that brand, and asking about another is refused. A whole-agency connection can work with any brand you manage, one call at a time.

Can I give the AI read-only access?

Yes, and new connections start that way: every tool that changes something is hidden and refused until an owner or admin allows write actions. You can also give the impact.com token read scopes only, which impact.com enforces on its side.

Are there limits on exports?

impact.com allows 100 report exports and 10 click exports a day, and asking for the same export twice returns the same job while still counting. PopMCP waits for a job it started and returns its rows, and if a job takes longer it gives the AI the job id to check back with.

Can it see my bank details?

Bank account numbers, routing codes and tax ids are masked to their last four characters in every answer. Other brands' access secrets, which impact.com includes when an agency lists its brands, are removed before the AI sees them.

Do I have to run or host the Impact.com MCP server myself?

No. PopMCP hosts it and gives you a Streamable HTTP MCP URL. There is nothing to deploy, no callback URL to register, and no infrastructure to keep running or patch.

Which AI clients can use this MCP server?

Any client that supports a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server: Claude Desktop, Claude Web, Claude Code, ChatGPT custom connectors, Codex and the Codex CLI, OpenCode and Z.ai's ZCode, as well as editors such as Cursor, Windsurf and Zed. Your client signs in to PopMCP with OAuth; the provider credential never leaves the server.

How do I connect Impact.com to Claude Code?

Connect Impact.com in PopMCP first, then run claude mcp add --transport http popmcp https://app.popmcp.com/mcp in a terminal. Inside Claude Code, run /mcp and sign in to PopMCP in the browser window it opens, ticking Impact.com on the consent screen. The Impact.com tools are then available in that session, and no Impact.com credential is stored on your machine.

Why do only 74 of the 231 tools load by default?

Loading 231 tool definitions into every conversation burns context before the work starts. PopMCP loads a curated 74-tool set covering the everyday workflows and keeps the rest searchable, so your AI pulls a specialist tool only when a task needs it. Every tool stays searchable, and on Scale the owner can load the full catalog for a teammate's connection.

What is the difference between a tool and a trigger?

A tool is something your AI calls, and there are 231 here. A trigger is something PopMCP watches for you: 15 Impact.com events that can start work on the PopMCP side. Triggers never enter your AI client's context, and none of them ask you to paste a callback URL into Impact.com.
