Credentials off one Gong screen, then an endpoint your client signs into. Nothing to deploy, and nothing to install.
As a Gong Tech admin, open Admin center, then Settings, then API under Ecosystem, and click Get API key. Give it a name, copy the access key and its secret, and paste both into PopMCP. It works on any Gong plan, and nobody has to approve anything.
Paste the access key••••••••••••3f7ahttps://us-12345.api.gong.ioAssigning prospects to flows, adding calls, uploading CRM data, changing permissions and everything else that edits Gong are writes and wait until an owner or admin allows write actions; new connections start read-only. Gong's keys cover the whole company, so PopMCP's read-only switch is the limit to use. The two data erasure tools tell the AI to ask you first, because Gong cannot undo them.
Drop the PopMCP URL into Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or any other supported client. It signs in through PopMCP with OAuth, so your Gong credential never leaves the server.
app.popmcp.com/mcpAsk for something harmless before the agent changes anything. Writes run as soon as it calls them, so confirm it reads the right account first.
Find my calls with Acme this month and tell me what they raised about pricing
gong_find_callsok
Then just ask for the work
“Find my calls with Acme this month and tell me what they raised about pricing”
“Summarize yesterday's call with Globex, with next steps and who talked most”
“How has the team's talk ratio and call volume moved over the last month?”
“What are the biggest risks on this deal? Here is its Salesforce id”
“Which scorecards did Dana's calls get this quarter, and where does she score lowest?”
“Add these three contacts to our renewal flow, under my name”
“List the calls in our Best Discovery Calls library folder”
One hosted endpoint, registered once per client. The same tools and the same permissions, whichever window the request comes from.
Add the PopMCP URL under Customize → Connectors and the tools appear in every chat.
The same endpoint, registered in the browser. Nothing to install on the machine you are working from.
Register PopMCP as a custom connector, then let ChatGPT read and update the account.
Wire the endpoint into Codex or the Codex CLI when a task needs live business context, not a fixture.
Register the remote MCP server in OpenCode's config for terminal-first and scripted agent runs.
Add PopMCP as an MCP server in Z.ai's desktop app and work the account from the same window.
FAQ
What teams ask before putting Gong behind an AI client.
An access key and its secret. A Gong Tech admin makes them under Admin center, Settings, API in the Ecosystem section, by clicking Get API key. Gong shows the secret only once. PopMCP stores both encrypted, checks them against Gong, and shows the workspace they belong to. They never reach your AI client.
Gong lets only that role make API keys, because a key reaches the whole company rather than one person. If that is not you, ask your Gong admin to make one key for PopMCP. Leave Trusted IPs empty unless your company requires it: a key limited to other addresses will be refused.
Yes. It can read a call's transcript with names on each line, in pieces for long calls, or look for only the lines that mention a word or phrase. It can also read Gong's own summary, key points, topics, trackers and talk time without opening the transcript. Private calls are left out.
Only two tools do: asking a question about an account or deal, and generating a brief. Gong charges those by how many calls and emails they read. Finding calls, reading transcripts and pulling stats use no credits. If the company runs out, the AI is told, and everything else keeps working.
Yes. A key covers all of the company's workspaces, and the AI can narrow most questions to one. Tools where Gong requires a workspace use yours automatically when you have only one, and ask which when you have several.
Gong allows 3 calls a second and 10,000 a day across your whole company, including every other integration you run. PopMCP's tools make their requests one at a time and stop at a fixed number. If the limit is reached, the AI is told when to try again.
Gong's server gives an AI three tools that answer questions and write briefs, each spending credits, and it returns no raw calls or transcripts. PopMCP covers all of Gong's public API, including transcripts, stats, scorecards and Engage flows, alongside your other connected tools.
PopMCP can watch for new calls, new users, new library folders, trackers and scorecards, and audit log entries by checking the matching lists for changes. Gong's automation rules are set up in its own settings, so nothing is registered on your account for this.
No. PopMCP hosts it and gives you a Streamable HTTP MCP URL. There is nothing to deploy, no callback URL to register, and no infrastructure to keep running or patch.
Any client that supports a remote Streamable HTTP MCP server: Claude Desktop, Claude Web, Claude Code, ChatGPT custom connectors, Codex and the Codex CLI, OpenCode and Z.ai's ZCode, as well as editors such as Cursor, Windsurf and Zed. Your client signs in to PopMCP with OAuth; the provider credential never leaves the server.
Connect Gong in PopMCP first, then run claude mcp add --transport http popmcp https://app.popmcp.com/mcp in a terminal. Inside Claude Code, run /mcp and sign in to PopMCP in the browser window it opens, ticking Gong on the consent screen. The Gong tools are then available in that session, and no Gong credential is stored on your machine.
Loading 79 tool definitions into every conversation burns context before the work starts. PopMCP loads a curated 37-tool set covering the everyday workflows and keeps the rest searchable, so your AI pulls a specialist tool only when a task needs it. Every tool stays searchable, and on Scale the owner can load the full catalog for a teammate's connection.
A tool is something your AI calls, and there are 79 here. A trigger is something PopMCP watches for you: 6 Gong events that can start work on the PopMCP side. Triggers never enter your AI client's context, and none of them ask you to paste a callback URL into Gong.
Launch a hosted MCP endpoint for Gong, keep tool access under control, and start testing real workflow prompts right away.
